About This Tour

The "Discover Zadar" tour is the perfect opportunity to step back in time and uncover the hidden corners of this extraordinary city! Ania, a licensed guide with over 20 years of local experience, will lead you through Zadar's most important landmarks, telling the fascinating stories hidden behind every stone. The route begins at the Land Gate — the Venetian entrance to the Old Town with a carved book detail. Next, we visit the Five Wells Square, a Renaissance square with historic water sources, and medieval Zadar's hidden areas revealing the city's earliest structures. The next stop is the Church of St. Simon, housing the relics of Saint Simon the Evangelist in a gilded silver sarcophagus. We continue along Kalelarga — the main street maintaining its Roman-era layout — to the People's Square and the City Lodge, the medieval political and social centre. We admire the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, a Romanesque church from the 12th-13th century with a 62-metre bell tower offering panoramic views of the city. We visit the remains of the Roman Forum and the Church of St. Donatus — a 9th-century Carolingian church renowned for its exceptional acoustics. The tour concludes at two famous installations on Zadar's waterfront: the Sea Organ, which plays music created by the waves, and the Sun Salutation — an artistic light installation.
